Connexus Concepts was formed to work with organizations in the process industries looking to adopt and embrace the concept of connecting with business partners to exchange data relevant to the product development process. Our strategy is based on a grass-roots approach, whereby we work with forward-thinking organizations to develop connections using commercially available software, and to establish standard industry protocols and processes which can be adopted by other stakeholders in the industry.
In the end, management is interested in results and the details are typically left to the individuals to figure out for themselves. Connexus Concepts will work with both the internal and external individuals to define the requirements and establish the protocols that satisfy everyone's business processes, and also works to increase awareness and industry-wide adoption.
Founded by Jim Maioriello, Ph.D., a Chemist and Business Systems Analyst with more than 17 years in the process industry, Connexus Concepts was formed to assist companies in the process industry to design and implement systems for connecting to business partners so they may exchange the information necessary to support the product development process.
In the 1990's, Jim developed new products and technologies in the personal care industry as head of the chemistry group for a startup biotech company, and also was awarded three patents during this time. Growing new business, he generated over $1.5 MM in revenue through contact services. He was also instrumental in helping this young company function more efficiently through the use of information technology in the product development process and began applying this technology in solving the many challenges chemists and product developers face on a daily basis.
In 2000, he was hired by Formation Systems (now Infor Global Solutions) to work on Optiva, a software system designed by chemists for the management of the product development formulas and recipes for companies in the process industry. Today, Optiva is used by cutting edge, world renowned organizations in the food and beverage, specialty chemical and personal care industries for their Product Lifecycle Management software solution.
His experience over the years includes designing and developing business systems for Target Corporation; Cargill Flavor Services, Amsterdam, Netherlands; the Campbell Soup Company; Takasago International Corporation (US), among many others.
